Utah Fits All

At Miacademy, we’ve been hard at work partnering with various state funding agencies across the country. Our goal is to make a quality education accessible for every student, and we’re accomplishing our goal one state at a time.

If you’re homeschooling in Utah, we have some exciting news to share with you!

As of 2023, Miacademy is now an approved purchase for the Utah Education Fits All Scholarship! All K-12 students in Utah will be able access Miacademy’s accredited online homeschool curriculum with a reimbursement provided by Utah’s new school choice program. Applications for the 2024-2025 school year open on February 28 and close on April 15, 2024.

What is the Utah Education Fits All scholarship program?

The Utah Fits All scholarship is a new school choice program funded by the State of Utah. All K-12 students are eligible, including public school, private school, and homeschool students. The scholarship will take the form of an education savings account and go into effect for the 2024-2025 school year.

This school choice program is a huge step for the state and allows students from all zip codes, financial backgrounds, and learning abilities the opportunity to find the best education solution for them. Scholarship funds can be used for a wide variety of educational needs, such as:

  • Private school tuition and fees
  • Textbooks, paper, pens, and other school supplies
  • Educational software, apps, and online curricula
  • Hardware such as laptops and calculators
  • Therapies and accommodations for disabled students
  • Testing fees, transportation costs, field trips, and more

Who Qualifies for Utah Education Fits All?

The only requirements for eligibility are being a resident of Utah and being in grades K-12. Families of recipients will be awarded $8,000 per student annually.

The scholarship’s first year in operation will be the 2024-2025 school year, with $42 million of funding available. If demand is greater than supply, students in low-income households and siblings of recipients will be given priority. You can pre-apply today and be the first to know of any updates, changes, and application openings.

Students who currently receive the Carson Smith Special Needs scholarship or the Special Needs Opportunity scholarship are ineligible to receive the Utah Fits All scholarship at the same time.

Students who currently attend a public school full time are eligible to apply for the scholarship. However, after accepting the scholarship, they are not allowed to continue attending full time. This is to prevent students from being “counted” in the budget twice. Students may attend public school part time and receive a prorated portion of funding instead of the full scholarship amount.
