Utah Fits All

At Miacademy, we’ve been hard at work partnering with various state funding agencies across the country. Our goal is to make a quality education accessible for every student, and we’re accomplishing our goal one state at a time.

If you’re homeschooling in Utah, we have some exciting news to share with you!

Miacademy is now an approved purchase for the Utah Education Fits All Scholarship! All K-12 students in Utah will be able access Miacademy’s accredited online homeschool curriculum with a reimbursement provided by Utah’s school choice program.

What is the Utah Education Fits All scholarship program?

The Utah Fits All scholarship is a new school choice program funded by the State of Utah. All K-12 students are eligible, including public school, private school, and homeschool students.

Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, there are three award tiers:

  1. $8,000 for private school students of any age
  2. $6,000 for homeschooled students ages 12-18 by September 1
  3. $4,000 for homeschooled students ages 5-11 by September 1

This school choice program is a huge step for the state and allows students from all zip codes, financial backgrounds, and learning abilities the opportunity to find the best education solution for them. Scholarship funds can be used for a wide variety of educational needs, such as:

  • Private school tuition and fees
  • Textbooks, paper, pens, and other school supplies
  • Educational software, apps, and online curricula
  • Computer hardware, such as laptops (limited to once every three years)
  • Therapies and accommodations for disabled students
  • Testing fees, transportation costs, field trips, and more

Who Qualifies for Utah Fits All?

The only requirements for eligibility are being a resident of Utah and being in grades K-12.

The scholarship’s second year in operation will be the 2025-26 school year, with $20 million of funding available.

The program prioritizes applications in the following order:

  1. Returning scholarship recipients
  2. New applicants whose household income is at or below 300% of the federal poverty level
  3. Siblings of recipients
  4. All other applicants

If demand is greater than supply, students who are not in priority 1-3 will be awarded on a lottery system.

Please note, if you plan to accept the Carson Smith Special Needs scholarship or the Special Needs Opportunity scholarship, your student will not be able to receive the Utah Fits All scholarship at the same time.

Students who are currently enrolled in public school are eligible to apply for the scholarship. However, after accepting the scholarship, they are not allowed to continue attending, to prevent students from being “counted” in the budget twice.
