Miacademy FAQ
Got questions? We’ve got answers—and a whole lot more! Explore our FAQ hub, packed with everything you need to know about customizing your curriculum, navigating safety features, and mastering your account.
Curriculum
The only difference is the color theme and gender of students on each site. Miacademy is co-ed, Always Icecream is for girls, and Clever Dragons is for boys. All sites offer the same educational content.
Student safety and comfort are our highest priorities. Some children may feel more comfortable in gender-specific environments, which allow for open discussion and creative expression in ways that might not occur in coed settings. Parents can choose the site that best fits their child’s social needs, though separate accounts are required if enrolling children in different communities.
At this time, account data is not transferable between sites, and each site will require an additional subscription and parent account. Moving a student from one site to another will result in lost progress.
MiaPrep.com is our co-ed high school curriculum, designed for students in grades 9-12, with 7th and 8th grade courses available as well. Just like our other sites, MiaPrep is entirely customizable and self-paced, allowing for a fully personalized approach to education.
For more information about MiaPrep, check out our MiaPrep FAQ page.
MiaPrep Online High School (MOHS) is our fully accredited high school for students in grades 9-12. MOHS uses the MiaPrep curriculum, but has additional benefits of select teacher-graded assignments, live office hours, specialty seminars and clubs, and a diploma upon graduation.
For more information about MOHS, check out our MOHS FAQ page.

As an online educational program, we cater to students in the U.S. and beyond; for this reason, our curriculum is broad and inclusive. While we don’t strictly adhere to a single set of standards, we design our courses largely in alignment with typical national standards for each grade level, as well as considering the educational standards (including Common Core) adopted by different U.S. states.
As a complete set of K-12 standards, Common Core includes goals for everything from counting to calculus, so there are absolutely some natural overlaps between topics included in our curriculum and Common Core. For example, learning how to add is included in the Common Core Standards, and we teach addition, but we don’t base our addition lessons on a specific Common Core standard. Instead, our decisions of what to teach and how to teach it are made by the teams of qualified educators who write every lesson.
Above all, our goal for our curriculum extends beyond teaching to a test or checking off a set of standards and is instead to prepare students for whatever path they take, whether transitioning back to public schools, moving on to college, or succeeding in an increasingly global and digital world. This means that we also include content that goes beyond traditional standards to ensure we are offering a well-rounded education for our students.

Technical Help
If you forget your parent site password, use the “Forgot Password” option with the email address associated with your Mia account to reset it.
Please be aware that the email may take up to 30 minutes to arrive in your inbox. Additionally, it’s worth checking your spam or junk folder, as sometimes emails can inadvertently be directed there.
Forgot Student Password
To change your child’s name or password, you can sign into your parent account. From the My Students tab, be sure you’ve selected the child who you’d like to update. The option to change your child’s credentials will be at the very bottom of this tab.
Add Another Parent
To give a second parent access to the account, we now have two options:
1. Connect your account to a Facebook account, which will allow an additional login besides the email that you signed up with.
2. Create an email strictly for schooling. For example, [email protected]. That would be a joint account where you could both share access.
Please be aware that with either option, one parent will have to update the login information from the original Mia account and then give the sign-in information to the other. These credentials can be changed later.
Here are some basic tips to help troubleshoot any issues you may encounter while using Miacademy:
- Make sure your web browser and device are up to date. It is crucial that your browser is the latest version for our website to work properly.
- Accept all cookies – be sure they’re turned on.
- We recommend using the Google Chrome browser.
- Restart your device.
- If the issue is lesson-specific, please try unassigning and reassigning the individual lesson.
If none of these tips resolve the issue, a thorough clearing of your device’s cache/history should do the trick! Here is a tutorial form that will walk you through the process of resetting the cache on your particular browser and device.
The form will also escalate your concern to our developer team to take a closer look, in the event that the cache clearing does not solve the issue.
Good catch! 🦗 To report a bug, please fill out this form and our team will get right on it!
